Herath Celebrations – Sevashram Sangha Temple, West London
8th March 2025
Namaskar, dear community,
We are delighted to share the joyous celebration of Herath (Maha Shivratri) that took place at the Sevashram Sangha Temple in Shepherd’s Bush, West London, hosted by the Kashmiri Pandit community. The day was filled with deep devotion and spiritual connection.
The temple echoed with mantras, bhajans, and shlokas, creating an uplifting atmosphere of devotion. A special moment was the recitation of shlokas by our youngest members—an inspiring reminder that our cultural roots remain strong across generations.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to making this event so special:
Abhinav ji, Leena ji, Manika ji, Pooja ji, Anu ji, and Kapil ji helped to create a sacred space that connected us with Mahadev.
Special thanks to our young bhajan mandli and the wider team for their soul-stirring bhajans and divine leelas.
As the saying goes, “Bhojan bina bhajan na saajey”—our heartfelt thanks to Ritu ji and Jyoti ji for bringing prasad that brought back the comforting, homely taste we all cherish, with beautiful support from Sheetal ji, Sunita ji, Akhilesh ji, Lipika ji, and Hiteshi ji.
A big thank you to the behind-the-scenes team: Sanjay ji, Neil ji, Vishal ji, Sarchana ji, Manju ji, and Kamesh ji for their invaluable help with preparation, set-up, and clean-up, ensuring the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
The most moving aspect of the day was the warmth and hospitality extended by every person in attendance. For every individual who arrived, there were others welcoming them as though it was their own event—and indeed, it was.
The day ended as a beautiful culmination of Herath, a celebration of faith, community, and the enduring spirit of our Kashmiri Pandit heritage.
Jai Bhole Nath!
