Dear All,
Handfold Namaskar to you all.
Recently, approximately 140 of us came together for the KPAE New Year Dinner and Dance at Crowne Plaza, Marlow. Even now, 10 days after the event, the excitement of seeing our biradhari members all in one room still stirs within me.
Children played freely, running without a care in the world—some forming new friendships, others rekindling past ones. It was heartwarming to see our senior members grace the event, showcasing their fancy dance moves with flair and sophistication.
There were emotional moments too. One of the most special was celebrating Uncle Surinder Kaul’s birthday, which fell on the following day. The joy in his eyes as we all sang Happy Birthday is a memory I will cherish for a long time.
We were honored to have a lovely family from Jersey who flew in especially for the occasion – a Kashmiri Pandit reconnecting with his community after four generations—a truly touching moment. Also families joining us from Hull, Gloucestershire, Kent. Who says distance matters when love calls!
A special thank you to Kotwal Uncle for contributing to the Tambola prize, and to our lovely Shirin Kotwal, who baked delicious cupcakes—clearly, no one was counting calories as they vanished down our hungry hatches!
A heartfelt thanks to our incredible comperes, Alkaji and Nischintji, who skillfully organized the entertainment and did their best to maintain some order amidst all the fun!
The room was filled with Kashmiri Pandits making merry—eating, chatting, laughing, and of course, dancing. And boy, can we let our hair down! The sound of Kashmiri chatter was simply lovely and heartwarming.
One memory that stands out most poignantly for me—and is perhaps best expressed beyond words—is the dancing.
As the music reached its many peaks, we burst onto the dance floor, unleashing waves of energy and excitement. The rhythm of the music created a shared experience that transcended age, uniting hearts and souls across generations.
It was as if the music had taken over our souls. We danced with abandon, our laughter and joy blending seamlessly with the beats, creating a night so special that it will stay with us for years to come.
Spending time with the people we care about and making these beautiful memories is truly one of life’s greatest gifts.
We eagerly anticipate creating more unforgettable moments in the future—cherished occasions filled with laughter, joy, and togetherness.
